How To Disable Pop-ups From Your Windows 10 Computer

How To Disable Those Annoying Pop-Ups From Your Window 10 Computer

Hello All,

I’m hoping you are having a good day or evening. Yes, we are moving forward out of the pandemic as we spend less and less time inside; thereby,  venturing outside more and less time on our computers.

However. . . . what I’ve noticed lately is that there are a lot of pop-ups even before viewing the page I want to go to.

What I found out is there is help for this problem and many ways of disabling the pop-ups.

Here is one site I like that helped me. Check the link below.

How to Stop Windows 10 Pop-Up Ads (lifewire.com)

You can google others as well for other options.

Hopefully, you will be able to have a better navigation experience with your computer as things in life are annoying enough!  Pop-ups really slow your computer down too.  We know advertising is important to all of us, but when there is a pop-up page on every time you turn the computer on, it can really be distracting, cutting down on your productivity.

SCAMMERS WHO POSE AS WINDOW DEFENDER  ALERT!!!

Hello  To all who visit my blog.

Just a warning about scammers who alert you there is a major virus attack on your Windows computer falsely appearing as Windows Defender and offering you technical support.  The situation looks so Real that you would be thrown off with the FEAR of losing everything on your computer!  The man who will speak to you has an Indian accent as from India.

Don’t give out any personal information if you happens to be caught up in a situation like this and be ready to varify anyone who calls you or you call them.

There will be all kinds of bells ringing and pictures of scripted virus alert with even a telephone number to call.

DON’T FALL FOR IT and just close your computer.  Google what you should do about this scam from HP to further protect your computer.

Go to this link and learn what you need to know about this situation!

How to remove Windows Defender – Security Warning POP-UP Scam – virus removal guide (updated) (pcrisk.com)

At the end of their walk-through, they want to sell you an Identity Protection program for $599.00 and $699.00.  DON’T FALL FOR IT!  They will also try to scare you about losing all your information and identity theft and more.

Tell them you will check with HP to see if this is a legitimate call and hang up!

So keep your computers updated and virus and malware protected.

I did put the free Malwarebytes on my computer to prevent scammer pop-ups and attacks.

Good luck and feel free to comment.  Don’t forget to put antivirus on all your devices- Phones included.

There are other sites and you can visit Windows as well, but again the link that seems to walk you through with how you can solve this problem is below. (I’m not selling anything for them. This is just a community alert)  I’m presently working with seniors and people who need help with simple navigation. Truly, communicating about the importance of antivirus and malware is a good start.
