Urgency Of Bennett College To Stay Open

UPDATE: Bennett College is 95% of the way to reach their goal! They are still collecting any donations today and tomorrow. Feb 2 and Feb 4, 2019. Feb 4th at 12 pm there will be a press conference at the Annie Merner Pfeiffer Chapel. KEEP THE DONATIONS COMING!

“WE CAN DO THIS!” WE CAN DO THIS!”

The lost of accreditation is not because of a academic problem, but because of an unstable financial status problem.

I’ve never seen time go by so fast when the call to help Bennett College to stay open with the need for 5 Million dollars, which is when I first heard a week ago. Donations have been given by many and I’m grateful for that! However, they are short of 2Million dollars by Feb 1, 2019 deadline. (update: They are now up to 95% of their goal!)

Bennett College is a HBCU of Liberal Arts, all-girls college in Greensboro, North Carolina.

If you can help in any way or by spreading the word, please do so! I believe we can do this!

How Did The Government Shutdown Affect You?

I am writing an article/booklet/book onf how the Government shutdown has affected you. Is this a wake up call to know that a person can have so much power to not only affect you, but your family and other co-workers as well as others who was linked to the business you do. I find that this was all unnecessary, mean-spirited and damaging in so many ways.

If you are one of the government workers that was affected, please send me a note or letter of how this government shutdown affected you.

I would like your permission to use your story in which I would keep your name ananomous.

You can write to : Thelma Harcum PO Box 4746 Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08034

Thank you for visiting this site and I wish you well and hope that there will be no more gov. shutdowns. Voting was very important as always. It is your vote that gave back the power.!

The positive thing, going forward is that Peosi and the House of Representative and maybe some of the Senate is trying to pass a bill so that there will be no more Government shutdowns! No More!

Fire Survivors Challenges

It seems that not a day past when you hear of a fire, but when it affects you, it is truly a life-changing experience. To lose all you have is something no one plans to happen in their lives.

In a recent fire that occurred in Trenton NJ that affected 18 people is trying to cope with this sudden tragedy that is no fault of their own. The fire is still under investigation.

I’ve been trying to gather a few things to donate and will be making another trip over their soon. The weather conditions have been difficult to travel in but the last 2 days have been a break from the deep freeze.

Thank goodness to the Fire Department, Red Cross, community and Social Service departments and other agencies that are there to give support. The fire department really had some challenging conditions from which to save lives and put out the fire. We are all grateful for the work they do every day to be ready to do their jobs.
