Now we have a Romaine Lettuce recall and alerts.
I was in WaWa this morning and see that all of their prepared salads meals were taken out of the refrigerated bin. Thank God they are honoring the alert.
The CDC believes that this E-coli breakout is from outside of Salina California. So far -and the numbers are changing I’m sure by the minute-40 people in 16 states are infected. I also heard on the news that 4 people have died from this E-coli breakout. This alert is important for all to know because of the devastating effect it can have on your health and life. It can cause renal failure and other ailments.

They, (the Department of Agricultural Food Safety Inspection Service) recommend you throw out your Romaine lettuce as soon as possible. I’m not sure of how to expose it, because should it not go into the regular trash; I’ll find out for sure.
You should be able to get credit for your purchase of a return. Try to bring back your receipt instead of the lettuce and don’t touch it. I would clean out the refrigerator as well with bleach and perhaps throw out other foods that are in the same area.
Staying safe means also keeping up with reports that are announced as well as those that are announced only for a short period.
